Biography: 

Richard Thomas is Head of Insight Marketing for Newsquest Media Sales. NMS represents the national advertising interests of Newsquest Media Group, one of the largest regional media groups in the UK. NMS sells a multi-channel portfolio including 300+ newspapers and 180+ websites, reaching over 13 million weekly readers, and in excess of 7 million monthly unique users.

 

Richard drives the insight-led approach to sales and marketing strategy which is core to the NMS philosophy. This manifests itself in a staunch commitment to commissioning the most cutting-edge, relevant research projects in the national marketplace, which seek to illustrate the unique strengths of local media, and an intimate understanding of the Newsquest audience – always with a view to maximising impact, engagement, and cut-through for agencies and their clients.

 

Before working at Newsquest, Richard spent 7 years at Trinity Mirror, in a variety of Marketing and Research based roles, including Marketing Director for Trinity Mirror Southern, and Strategic Marketing Manager for the central, pan-Regional team.

 

Richard is 32 years old, a fan of Arsenal, Paul Weller, and his soon to be 3 year old son’s Beatles impressions. He is yet to accept that Oasis have split up.
